SHENOLE LATIMER TRIO
Genre: Modern Jazz (Hard-bop, Post-bop, Experimental)
Instrumentation: Saxophone, Bass, Drums
Feeding on inspiration from one of the greatest jazz saxophone trios to ever be recorded, Sonny Rollins' Blue Note release "Live at the Village Vanguard", the Shenole Latimer Trio puts out a sound and texture that does not easily betray the fact that they are only three musicians. The best way to listen to this group is to do so while wearing a seat belt!

Home Fries
Genre: Funk, Fusion, R&B, Blues
Instrumentation: Saxophone, Trumpet, Keyboard, Guitar, Bass, Drums
Mix one part funk, two parts groove, sprinkle in some "sass" and "stank", and then let it all simmer over some blues, and you end up with Home Fries. While Shenole Latimer's other ensembles deal in sophistication, Home Fries deals in attitude. Concert halls that host this ensemble would be well advised to rip out their seats and put in a dance floor. |

The Latimer Experience
Genre: World, Improvisational
Instrumentation: Saxophone, 2-3 Percussionists (playing misc. african and latin percussion instruments), Guitar, Bass, Keyboard
Three generations of Latimers, along with guest performers and musician friends, join forces to show that music is alive and well in the Latimer family. One doesn't listen to this gifted family of musicians, they experience them! The ensemble combines African and tribal music with Latin and jazz to create purely improvisational compositions that flow like a river and hits the audience members where they feel it most...in their soul. |
