This was my debut album as a bandleader. During the recording of "Front and Center", I didn't concern myself with trying to make a good "post-bop" jazz album, a good "straight ahead" jazz album, or a good "fusion" album. What I really concerned myself with was trying to make a great album that was full of great music...period!

Listeners are not only greeted by a mix of original compositions and jazz standards, but also by jazz styles ranging from the up-tempo, straight ahead style of the opening track "The T.L. Special", the laid back bossa nova "I'm just Fine", to even my rock/funk rendition of the George Gershwin classic "Summertime".
